Why we built Folaa.
We saw a gap in how Nigerians handle everyday payments — and decided to fill it.
The Problem
Buying airtime, paying bills, and converting crypto to Naira in Nigeria means juggling multiple apps, dealing with hidden fees, and waiting hours for transactions to clear. For freelancers and remote workers, getting a USD card is nearly impossible.
The Solution
Folaa brings everything together — VTU airtime and data, electricity and cable TV bills, stablecoin-to-Naira swaps, and USD virtual cards — in one fast, secure app. No more switching. No more waiting. No more hidden charges.
The Idea
A small team in Kaduna noticed how difficult it was to pay bills and swap crypto in Nigeria. The idea for Folaa was born.
Building the Foundation
We spent a year building the core infrastructure — payment APIs, crypto swap engine, and security systems. Partnerships with licensed Nigerian banks and crypto networks were established.
Beta Testing
A closed beta with 500 early users helped us refine the app. We added virtual cards, expanded bill payments to all 36 states, and built our 24/7 support system.
Official Launch
Folaa is now live for everyone. We are a new platform, but we are growing fast — and we are just getting started.
